A Marriage of Interests

The husband/wife team Michelle Coffee and David Johnson are the creators of the luthiers cruises.

Michelle is the owner of a travel agency, Cruise Planners, in Upper Marlboro, MD. Her business centers on off-the-beaten port cruises, such as river and barge cruising, and other up close and personal cruises which can only be found on the smaller ships. She also has an ongoing interest in music and has played classical piano until she recently discovered the thrill of improvisation playing in a jazz group.

David is a program anaylist with the US Department of Interior, working with Indians in economic development during the day. But after hours he buys, sells, and trades beautiful handmade guitars, searching for that ONE life guitar... the ONE always beyond reach, oh but how cool to be on the search!!! David has become an expert on Gurian guitars. In fact, some of you may know him by his ebay username - "new2horses".

The marriage of our interests were a natural in putting together this cruise. Why not have three of the best luthiers spend some time sharing their passions and expertise with the very people who are passionate about their work? And what better way to celebrate than aboard a cruise ship in a beautiful part of the world - ALASKA!
